Introduction :
Aquatic Filtration Systems (AFS) was formed to address the growing need for the availability of safe & pure water for the general population. One of our line is the production of the complete range of Filter Media Sand and Gravel, meeting all International Standards. This is the only facility in Asia (except Japan), which is producing the full range of industrial sands on a regular basis in an integrated factory in Karachi. Further if suitable raw material is available in any country itself then we can also install a processing plant there if found technically and financially feasible.
 
Projects :
Aquatic Filtration Systems in the last few years, developed a process which produces the filter sand and gravel to all international standards including the British, American & Japanese standard specifications. It was for this reason that our material has been successfully used in the new filter beds at the following major water supply schemes which otherwise would have been imported :

Salient Features :
Several manufacturers of home and industrial cartridge filters have been using our material on regular basis. Various tests done on our material prove that the media is of a high standard than required by the international specifications in the following aspects :
1) The material is 100 % Silica Quartz with very minor impurities.
2)
The specific gravity is higher than required i.e. 2.63 as against 2.5 required. Higher weight does not allow the sand to be washed away during back washing.
3)
Hardness coefficient is around 7.5 as compared to the requirement of 4.5 which prevents abrasion during the back washing process and this will prevent change in the grading.
4)
The shape of particle is cubical which makes is more efficient for filtration due to better interlocking process.
5)
The grading of material is very consistent and lies in the middle of the range allowed in the specifications. We have the capability to produce and supply any grading according to filtration requirement. In the past we have produced the several gradings for different projects.
   
Mining Lease :
AFS has also been granted a mining lease by Sindh Government in Dadu District over an area of 210 acres which contains excellent raw material for the production of the media.
